Program to remove malware manually?


I found i program a few years ago that when ran in safe made from usb drive showed a list of everything that was trying to run at startup (as malware usually does). You then scrolled through the list and looked at each line looking for any programs, files, etc that do not belong (usually with the tell-tale signs like the random numbers and letters at the end of the name) kind of like a very simple and easy registry editor. I can't find it anywhere on my computer or online. I use rkill, malewarebytes, then avast and i just want to run this to double check my brothers computer.

garfield 		have you tried "msconfig"?

It's built into XP and I think Win 7

(Start > Run)

Also, you can use RegEdit and look under

HKLM > Software > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > Run
HKLM > Software > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > RunOnce
HKCU > Software > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > Run
