Will Kaspersky remember malware that attacked before?

I just got my computer back from office max, and thy fixed the problem that it was having. Apparently there was malware on the drive. Now that the malware is gone, I can't help but wonder if it could be waiting in one of my hard drives, I don't know where it is, so I'm afraid to plug them in unless I know Kaspersky wont let the same thing happen twice. It gets automatic updates, but I'm wondering if Kaspersky will see it and destroy the malware if Kaspersky sees the little bastard waiting in one of my portable drives. Can Kaspersky be fooled twice? Or can I use my portable drives?

Malware normally doesn't move from drive to drive but if you believe that you have downloaded something in the past that was to blame then its fine to plug it in, they normally run off strtup entries in the registry which is gone and the source location is gone so it won't run automatically upon plugging the drive in. Just delete anything you think might have been the cause and dont open those files because then it will run.

Kaspersky is an Anti-Virus program, and the scope of what an Anti-Virus program will defend against is very narrow. What I suggest is that you also purchase the pro version of MBAM, it is the best all around malware detector/remover on the market, and a good compliment to an Anti-Virus program.
MBAM is only 25 dollars for a lifetime license. It is probably the program they used to remove what you had. There is a free version, but it will not give you live protection, and you will have to manually update, and run scans. You can get it here:
