How do I get Windows XP within VMWare Workstation to download anything?


I am running Windows 7 as the host, and using VMWare Workstation to run Windows XP. When I am using XP, I cannot update any programs. I want to update Flash 9 to Flash 10, and it always says 'Failed to Initiate'. It does this with anything I try to download, saying it could not initiate, then it kicks off the internet connection and I have to restart everything. How am I supposed to update Flash, then? It won't even let me manage add ons. I got VMWare Workstation thinking I would be able to get XP to work smoothly, and it has this problem, now. Somebody please help!

garfield 		I suspect that you have a connection issue with VMWare.
Are you using NAT to share your IP?

try to ping a website from within the virtual machine ( XP )
that should help you decipher if it's an IP issue or not...
