You Ip address will change when you use a different internet connection. As long as the hardrive is functional they can get all the info. Usually people have lots of personal info like pics Etc.. There is a very good chance they can look it up and find you as long as they know what they are doing.

That depends (IP Address)...
If your computer is stolen, *it's* IP address remains the same until or unless someone puts a new modem / LAN card into it and uses that instead of the onboard one.

When you purchase a computer you purchase one or more IP addresses that are already pre-programmed into the computer. The on-board communications chipset, and/or the installed LAN card.

Additionally...depending on your ISP, you either have an IP address assigned to your ACCOUNT, or you have a Dynamic IP that changes every time you go on-line.

As for tracing your steps...with physical possession you your computer (the stolen one), they can definately trace your activities.
Without your computer, yes, they can still trace a great deal of your Internet Activity, since the ISP's logs contain every site you've visited, and legally have to be kept for a certain amount of time (varies by jurisdiction).

You can change your IP simply by pulling your net out for a few hours in most cases.

They could ask your ISP what IP addresses have existed in the same location in the past, assuming you instal the new computer in the same house, and look those up as well.
