If we have the technology to disseminate our print media in digital form, is it morally wrong to not do so?

Imagine the natural resources we'd save if we switch to digital journals, magazines, newspapers, books, etc. What's your position on this debate? Is print a dying form of media? Do we have a moral responsibility to kill it given our new technologies?

I'm conflicted. I seriously love printing articles and buying books, but I feel the need to modernize and embrace electronization because it's a real way I can contribute.

History and tradition should alwayus be preserved. While its good to know how to use technology, its also very important to know how to do things manually. I cant remember the last time it was mandatory for me to write something in cursive other than a signature. Modernization is cool, but the preservation of the past is more important. What happens if one day we become so dependant on technology that we cant even funtion without it? Not to mention the many people who do not own computers, what do they do?

If it's all technological, wouldn't our government be able to change the past?

See that's the thing while it's not wrong to put books to computers it would mean that we would be one massive computer bug short of being knocked back to the stone age. However if we back up the files and keep books around that is less likely to happen.
