What factors should i consider while buying an ipad?


hi friend, i am planning to buy an ipad and want to have some genuine knowledge about it. I want to know its pros and cons. If you have anything related to buying an ipad the please share it to me.

garfield 		are you an Apple lover?
you have to think about what you are used to. there is a lot less functionality than any other portable device.
it's basically a huge iPhone, so if you love apps and just love surfing on the comfort of your sofa then the iPad is probably for you.
If you want to work on the move but don't want a laptop, you might want to consider an HP tablet or something similar.

garfield 		When someone says "hey look at that dumb iPad over there..... it's just a giant iPod touch, why would you want that??" it makes me want to roll around on the ground and scrape my fingernails on the chalkboard. THAT IS EXACTLY WHY THE IPAD IS SO AWESOME. Because its a great big iPod touch. If you want to do day-to-day stuff, like check email, surf the web, view photos, watch movies, and play games, then this is the thing for you. It's also GREAT for making slideshows, and presentations, and pages. But If you're planning on using it as your primary work device, then that would be a bad idea.

garfield 		i was nervous about whether or not i would like my iPad before i bought it but i got it and love it. I would highly recommend you buy one but I recommend you don't buy the 3G unless your going to be gone a lot. I have the iPad 64 GB 3G and I barley ever use the 3G because you don't get unlimited data. AT&T charges $25 for 2 GB of data and you'd be surprised how quickly you use it up. Anyway I would recommend that you look at the size of your iTunes and Picasso/iPhoto library and you either get the 32 GB or 64 GB Wi-Fi model based on that.

garfield 		I've had an iPad for several months and I love it but it does depend on what your needs are.

It's great for surfing the web, mail, games, entertainment and you can do some word processing with the pages app.

It's not a laptop replacement for everyone. You will have to choose from apps approved by apple or jailbreak the device.

If you have used a ipod touch or iphone then you have the basic idea. The larger screen makes it easier to do just about everything.

garfield 		It's pros and cons become prevalent quickly once you start using it alot. The "pros" are that it's probably the best media consumption device available. It's far more intiment than a laptop or a phone. I love reading through newspapers and magazines, and browsing is pretty much seamless. If you'll be using your iPad for those kinds of tasks, you'll be incredibly satisfied. However there are definitely "cons." You can't really make anything on the device that is useful for work. Theirs iWork apps, but it's not simple to get documents printed off of the thing. Of course there's no flash support, but that's something that's never going to change. If your looking around for alternatives to the iPad, good luck! There's alot missing from th iPad, but anything it can do, it can do extremely well. One thing I have to mention is if your planning on using this as a computer replacement. You'll need a computer to activate it, a computer to update it, a computer to restore it, and a computer to sync it. So, if your wanting a computer, just get a laptop. Alot of people are buying the thing for the "cool factor," which is bound to wear off as soon as everyone buys one at Christmas and Apple comes out with a new model.

As far as buyer's advice, I'd recommend at least the 32 GB model, and I'd go for the 3G flavor if you do alot of traveling. I don't think you'll be disappointed in the iPad.
